125th Celebration Day
On the 12th July we embarked to Felden, national HQ of The Boys' Brigade UK. The day was set out to be fun for all ages, we had a magician, bouncy castle, human table football, it's a knockout, the police & fire men came down as well. the day started at 11am with all the boys arriving by double Decker bus & three minibuses, we has over 120 boys & about 25 staff at the event. It was a great success with all the company in the battalion being represented & every one having fun, to celebrate the Boys' Brigade being 125 years old.

Summer Programme
It has now come to the end of the summer programme for this year & the kids really did enjoy them selves. The last two weeks we finished off with rafting & 5 a side football.

Battalion Junior Section Camp 13th - 15th June - Giant Sleepover 2008
On camp we had over 30 boys, & 17 staff,& was held at Boys' brigade Headquarters - Hemel Hempstead. The camp started off on the Friday night with a game of Quasars, followed by Saturday morning going to Phasels wood activity centre to do archery rifle shooting, abseiling, crest run, plus many more. Saturday afternoon we headed off down to London to do the Giant sleepover event. Our location was the London Dungeons, we had a tour first followed by Domnoies pizza, then we snuggled down to sleep. in the morning we took part in the aquafresh teeth cleaning challenge to try & break a Guinness world record, after that we return to Felden & finished off with some awards, & kids left happy with their Giant sleepover goodies.

Summer Programme
At the beginning of June every year we start our summer programme, it is a welcome to change to both boys & staff, as instead of staying in the hall a usually we will go out & do some thing different. So far we have done Top golf & climbing (see pics below).

Waltham Walk
Over the weekend of 17th and 18th May, We entered 5 teams in the Waltham Walk in Essex. The two younger groups of boys took part in the mini trek which involves a 9 mile walk on Saturday, camping over night and a 6 mile walk on Sunday. The older boys entered the main event, veterans & suppervets & hiked 30 miles over the two days carrying all their equipment and camping over night.
At the end of each leg of the route the teams arrive at a check point where they carry out some form of incident before carrying on to the next grid reference which is given at that check point. Both of these teams did very well

Company Display
Our annual display was held on Saturday the 10th May, It was a different setting to usual as we had changed venues from Highfield school which we have been going to for some years, to Winchmore Hill Baptist church (where we meet). The night was a great success with plenty of awards at the beginning, followed by some great items from both BB & GB sections.
We also had our very own Britain's got talent dubbed 'Brigades got Talent', it went off with out a hitch, we had the three mean judges & some willing victims for them to pray on. (see pic below)

Anchor & Junior Sections 03-04-08
On Thursday both sections visited Southgate Fire station. We had nine boys + four offices, we had a warm welcome upon arrival at the station.
Firstly we began the tour of the station, because the engine was out on a call. After we had finished the tour of the station building, the engine had come back, we had to wait for a short time for the fire men to do there checks on the engine encase it had to be called out again.
The fire men went on to show us all the equipment including demonstrations of the car crushing equipment, & rescue equipment. They also let all the boys have a turn with the fire hose (which after that all the cars had a good wash). when finished with their goes on the hose we left having had a great time out.

Anchor & Junior Sections - 28-02-08
On Thursday we had a visit form Simon Blaxland from Essex Police. Simon is a armed Police officer who works at Stanstead airport, he came & gave the boys a informative talk about the police force followed by a demonstration of Police uniform & equipment, which you can see the boys wearing. The boys also received goody bags at the end of the evening, & all thanked Simon for coming to visit.

Battalion Badminton
Held at the New Edmonton Leisure Centre, this new centre was ideal to move to as it is so close & the quality of the courts. Our Senior team came in 2nd place out of 7 teams, & the junior "B" team came in 1st Place, & "A" team came in 5th Place out of 8 teams. (Held on 4th Feb 2008)
North London X Country
Held at Barnet in Edgewarebury Park, a good turn out on a bitterly cold morning. Well done to James Norman who won the 1st Place senior individual trophy, & George Norman who won the 3rd Place Junior individual trophy. (Jan 2008).
National Bowling Competition
Held in October 2007 at Gobowling in Dunstable, 40 teams turned up to battle it out over the lanes. our teams triumphed in 3rd Place - The Main Championship & 2nd Place - The alley League.
Battalion Junior Section Weekend Camp 2007
In June our Junior section boys along with the rest of the Battalion went to Gilwell Park, we stayed in the Branchet Lodge for the weekend, & the boys did such activities as Quasar, crate stacking, canoeing, archery, pedal go-karts, & much more. Take a look at some of the snaps from the weekend. As normal the weekend was a great success & had a great attendance with over 45 boys.

Waltham Walk
This year we entered 1 main event team which came in 7th place, & two super vets teams which came 3rd & 6th Place. All three of the teams has to test their endurance as they hiked 30 miles over two days, camping overnight. full equipment had to be carried, also just to add to the fun they had to do take part in several wet incidents at the checkpoints. National Bowling Competition
This year we had to travel to a new location as the previous alley had been closed down. After getting used to the new lanes our boys came through, & ended up in 1st Place in the main Championship. 14th October 2006.

Battalion Quiz
Held on Friday 3rd December 2004 at 10th Enfield HQ, there were entries from 7 companies (including 133rd Barnet - North London entry). Well done to our team who came 2nd in the competition. The full results were as follows:

The Competition was held at Hollywood Bowl (Finchley) on Saturday 27th November 2004. Both our teams claimed victory, with the Seniors doing it for the 3rd year in a row! The full results were as follows:

Christmas Fayre
Held on Saturday 20th November at Winchmore Hill Baptist Church. A good amount was raised towards company funds and the event proved to be a worthwhile within the community with a good number of visitors.
National Bowling Championships
The annual National Bowling Championships were held in Bedford on Saturday 9th October 2004. We once again had two teams entered, along with around 60 other teams from around the country. The championships were run in a new format this year, with second teams going into the new Alley League. Our 1st team competing in the main championship did well in the qualifying stages and finished 3rd in their league, and went through to the Quarter-Final and knockout stages. Our 2nd team who were competing in the Alley League and did very well to finish in 1st place in the Alley League for the Qualifying stages. As they were in the top 3 in the Alley League they were promoted to the knockout stages (finals) of the main championship - and so we had 2 teams in the final 16 in the main championship! Our 1st team was then knocked out after being narrowly beaten in the Quarter-final, but our 2nd team went on to beat their opponents in the Quarter-final and went through to the last 8! Unfortunately though they did not proceed past the semi-final stage. Well done to both teams.......!
Battalion 5-A-Side Football Competition
Held on Saturday 2nd October 2004 at Grundy Park Leisure Centre in Cheshunt. Our Junior Team came 1st Place and Senior Team 4th Place. Well Done to all that took part in this event.
London
Colours Competition
The Company entered both the single and two colour London competitions on Saturday 10th July. Our Single Colour Party won their competition, and the two-colour party came third - well done to all concerned. The presentation of the trophy was made during the London District Beating Retreat held that evening at the Royal Chelsea Hospital.

Top Team Challenge
Out of a total of 321 entries, our teams came 32nd and 41st places. The Top Team Challenge is a team event which involves a set of logical and physical challenges which have to be completed within a specific time period.

Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition
4 Boys completed their Duke of Edinburgh's Award Bronze Expedition over the weekend of 19th/20th June. The Boys planned and then navigated the exploration around the Chiltern Hills, and camped overnight at the BB Ashridge Campsite. The Expedition was combined with boys from the 1st St Albans Company. This is one of the final stages in the Boys completion of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Activities for other sections of the award have included: Sub Aqua, Website Design, Help within the Anchor Boys and Junior Section.
Company Camp to Holland (05/06/2004)
11 Boys and 5 Staff travelled to Holland for
the Annual Weekend Camp over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
Travelling by Ferry from Dover to Calais, driving through France and Belgium
into Holland, staying at Duinrell a Campsite and Theme Park near
to The Hague. Duinrell is a large campsite, which is complimented by its own
Theme Park and Water Park, the water Park 'Tikki Pool' has 10 water chutes, as
well as wave pool, lazy river, etc. During the weekend there was a visit to The
Hague, and also the Six Flags Holland Theme Park, which boasts 8
roller coasters, amongst a host of other thrill rides.
Previous Company camps included visits to Disneyland Paris, Paris, and
Amsterdam.
